model 99 300 Savage

Favorite loads for your 300? I'm compiling more data for my neglected model 99, she needs to get out more often, and I would like some of your pet loads data.
Mine is a 1951EG model with a 24" barrel and a Schnabel fore-end, and loves Sierra Pro Hunter's in 150 grn Round Nose and 165 grn Speer Grand Slam's with
H335 & BLC-2(150's) and IMR3031 & H4895(165's) for speeds of 2600 fps & 2400 fps respectively, ...based on my manuals as I have no chrony.
These loads produce 1" to 1-1/2" @ 100 yds when I do it right, the trigger on that rifle really sucks.

Savage 99EG 300 Savage

Back in the '80s I bought several 99Cs. I had been looking for one in 300 Savage, but wound up with one in 308 Win. that was new in factory box. I mounted Williams FP aperture rear and front ramp sights, see-through scope mounts, and 42mm objective diameter scopes. Your groups are what my 99Cs give me with, among others, the powders you're using and Nosler Partitions or Ballistic Tips, and all these rifles have excellent triggers. All things considered, I'd say that you've found the right loads, and should stick with them, and also consider having the trigger worked on.
