Both will certainly do the job admirably, but I dislike aluminum. So the 870 it is.

Katrina Guy, you speak the truth. I took me a month just to find a Remington 870 where they were trying to screw you on the price. So much for the most produced shotgun in America, they need more in the market because at the rate things are going, people need guns. This is the moment when gun manufacturers need to be putting mass amounts of guns out there for people to buy.

What is the best place online to buy accessories for an 870? I want to replace the forestock on the pump and maybe get a rear stock saddle for ammo.

Let me know if you find a good stock saddle. There's ton of side-receiver saddles but not as many rear stock saddles for some reason.

LoneStar, I think I forgot the correct name. side-receiver saddle is what I meant.

EDIT: I need some help looking for a replacement fore-end. I like the fore-end to be tight, and it would need to be all synthetic. I found a good side-saddle elastic band for 4.95 http://acecase.com/bullet-band-shell...r-shotgun.html

Steve Rick, let's just hope the gun mfgs, don't end up..

cutting what little quality control already in place, in an attempt to get more products out the door to meet the demand. Back in December I think it was, I had to wait over a month for some Persuader's to hit the Academy Sporting good shelves, three arrived, me calling everyday, I picked up one and someone there picked up the remaining two! Easy sales!

Yeah, that's right katrinaguy, these gun manufacturers better not be cutting quality control because that endangers the lives of you and me. I will be sure to check ever inch of my gun some more.

Both are good, but the 870 just fits me so good.

I'm sure it was just my uncle's superior gun handling abilities and vast firearms knowledge but it seemed like as soon as he would pick up his mossberg it would jam... Ever since I've been sqeemish about 'em. Plus, I'm a Remington kinda guy...

It appears the difference is negligible.

I prefer a 590. For a HD gun I'd rather have the 18" barrel however.
