Win Model 25 Repairs - Need recommendations for a 'smith.
My Winchester Model 25 needs some help.
It's had a hard life, seen a lot of use, and is on its last leg. But, I'm not ready to retire it. I've done some work to it in the past, but I don't want to mess with it this time. The trigger, safety cross-bolt, and hammer are just worn out. They'll probably all need to be replaced or repaired (welded and recontoured?). The disconnector and elevator also appear to need some kind of help (aside from wear). As I learned the hard way, this shotgun has one of the oddball, short-lived trigger group variants, that is nearly impossible to find parts for. (Very few M12 parts fit, and I haven't been able to get my hands on any M25 parts.) So.... does anybody have any recommendations for a gunsmith that knows what they're doing with a Model 25, and might be able to repair the existing parts if replacements can't be located?

To my information the M25's were
solid framed M12's.
Maybe try the Winchestercollectors forum for better assistance? |
