remington 572 fieldmaster

I am building an old remington 527 .22 rifle for my mom. she grew up shooting one of these rifle and has alway wanted her dads gun. well I got my hands on one it is in kinda rough shape and tends to stove pipe bit I think I have it figured out. I want to do something special on this gun besides just reblue the receiver and finish the furniture. like I said this is the same gun her dad had so is like to do something as a tribute to him bit don't have any really good ideas that are tacky or would make the gun unusable.
I have access to pretty much any lol you can think of so the sky is the limit.

thanks for any and all input.

p.s. I know this is not the best gun in the world but it is what she wants.

Nope, not familiar with the 527. Do you mean a model 572 pump, the Fieldmaster?
