DO NOT TRUST THIS EBAYER reddogxxalaskan

When I first started Ebaying, I bought a "Colt factory 1911 barrel" from Reddog.
I paid with Paypal immediately but the barrel never arrived.
I contacted Reddog and he said he shipped it but would ship another barrel to me.

Well that one never arrived either....
So after 2 months I told him I was about to contact Ebay.
So he shipped a third barrel.
(yah right)

This one showed up...but it was not Colt factory as advertised.
It was some junk POS part and I never used it.

I was new to Ebay and not aggressive I would be now.
I should have flamed the guy over it.

I am not surprised to see this thread.
I just registered on this forum in order to give my 2 cents worth....

He has had a fair share of 10mm stuff and has a very mixed review on the 10mmtalk forums. I got an original Delta Elite grip from him and it was fine but I would be very carefull getting anything bigger...

I had a bad experience with this dude as well. Ordered a .400 Cor-Bon barrel. 2 weeks after auctions end he sent out "the second one". 8 days later I recieved the package. He sent me the wrong length. What a jerk.

I bought a few Desert Eagle 44 mag Magazines from him..price was cheap, and while it said they were "Factory" they were obviously not...They worked fine, and price was right, so I didnt care, but it really should not have been advertised as "factory"

I bought some Hi Power mags that were crap from him some time ago. He sent me some more....they were crap too. He is selling so much stuff on ebay that my bad feedback was lost in all of his good ones.

I did the 'Buy It Now' with this guy on two "factory" CZ75 mags a couple years ago before the AWB expired and the mags got hard to find. I asked him for a shipping total and he emailed back saying "your two factory mags will be xxx to ship." Just the way he said it for some reason set off an alarm and I emailed him back to clarify that the mags were in fact made by the CZ75 manufacturer - and apparently they were not according to his reply. Apparently he thinks/thought it was funny to advertise them as "factory" mags because as we all know they had to be made in a factory somewhere - even crappy old USA mags are in a sense a "factory" magazine. Of course we all know it is misleading to advertise like that as everyone in the firearms world with an IQ over 80 considers "factory" to mean OEM.

One positive point - he did not leave any negative feedback on me when I told him the sale was off since he had misrepresented the item. Have to give him that. What really irks me is there is a market for folks who want to buy cheap crap. Just look at how well USA mags did before the AWB cut into their bottom line. If you sell junk then fine but just be honest about what you are selling. You do not need to misrepresent things in the first place. There's always a sucker who will buy your junk, even when you are honest about it. Yugos, Packard Bell computers, Microsoft Windows, etc....

i was also a victim.
i bought an advertised wilsons springs and followers, what i got was a POS wire than someone just manually bent and shaped :barf:
and those followers would stuck at the bottom of the mags!

Good deal and passed on deal

Bought a set of wood grips from him. They were nice but iirc, shipping was a bit high. Sent an e-mail about one of his barrels and he replied it would fit the firearm in question,... something about the answer made me decide not to bid and after reading some of the other replies here I am glad I did not. Ebay's procedures are of little use with lower cost items which turn out to be in worse condition than indicated or incorrect for the application one is buying them for.

Personally, I would not credit him with not leaving negative feedback. He has to know if he negs you that you will turn around and possibly mention that the items he is selling are not made by CZ or whoever else he "claims" they are made by, thus potentially warning other would be buyers to his shady deals. A lot of scam artists on ebay never or rarely respond to negative feedback. The sad thing is newer buyers never start out realizing that one should look at a seller's feedback as well as the feedback they have left others prior to bidding on their item(s).

A little off topic but if you are bored sometime, go look at the feedback forum for an idea of what sellers think of buyers. It is a bit different than you would think. Have seen high shipping charges justified as necessary, waiting for buyers to post feedback first as the correct way to deal with feedback and in general how stupid buyers are. Geez, the last time I looked, in order to SELL something it is preferable to have a buyer.....

He has a listing for USP magazines up now. Nowhere does it mention that they are H&K products. Wrote him a direct e-mail via ebay (can't claim to not have gotten it) and received no reply. Fortunately I have an e-mail account that is totally unrelated to what I do on ebay so I wrote the high bidder. Of course, he will probably report it like a good little ebaynazi as being auction interference, this being a crime of the first degree to the socialists which own ebay.

Whoa, glad I seen this thread. I have been wanting his 1911 9mm Luger barrel for my 38 Super Commander for some time now and I'm glad I never bid. I had dealings with an Ebay user named jimmysrockandroll which went well but afterwards, began receiving emails from users who all had been cheated in one form or another. This guy had 100's of negative feedback comments and still remained active. I guess money talks on Ebay!

It is an excellent idea to continue posting here about sellers like these; also we all should leave the appropriate eBay feedback when we are in these auctioni situations, it helps the eBay system work.

Of course, you always are at risk for the retaliatory feedback, but I leave negative feedback anyway if I feel I was ripped off or if the 'fix' took too much effort or time.

I'm in the midst of it now. Bought "shooting Star" Mags...pictured on e-bay. Got generic mags. I'll let you all know how he resolves this.

I joined the club, unfortunately

:barf:

I'll confirm that the Browning mags he sells are crap...took them to my initial IDPA practice, and spent more time unjamming the pistol than I did shooting - finally got tired of it and shot my backup pistol for the remainder of the practice session.

If they're Pro-Mags, they're crap. They have been processed by a 10" vice in my shop - they definitely won't jam again. It wasn't worth the hassle of trying to get them replaced.

My range bag now has factory mags only in it - and that's all I'll buy after that fiasco.

Hmm, seems I just happened to stumble on this thread at a coincidental time... ...just looked at some of his mags and put them on my watch list. Thanks all for your input.

hes famous for selling "Wilson" parts, not Wilson Combat as you will see when his junk arrives. This forum is one of the few that don't have a sticky about this clown. I was leary of wildalaska when i first came here, falsely so, just because of the name. I made my first purchase from wildalaska, and it will not be my last.

I can't complain about Reddog. I recently bought 5 1911 magazines. They were marked like factory magazines, but he indicated they were aftermarket in his description.

Quote:
Up for bids is a set of 5 brand new, Stainless Steel 1911 45acp Magazines. 7 Round Capacity. These are excellent mags for any 1911 type pistol. They are Mil Spec and will fit/feed/function in all known 1911's. Excellent set of OEM quality aftermarket mags, good enough for personal defense use. Winning bidder pays $5 for shipping. Paypal/money order/personal check all welcome for same day shipping.
Anyway, I had trouble with them not locking the slides back in my 1911's. After emailing him, he offered a refund. I put the magazines in the mail yesterday and had a full refund in my PayPal account last night. Can't complain about the customer service. (Maybe it's because he's a Texan now)
