Lyman Sonic Tank Drain?

Hi Folks!

I'm using one of the new Lyman Sonic Case Cleaners ... which, by the way, is a wonderful thing.

But the instructions say not to leave the cleaning fluid in the tank for "long" periods of time.

I'm using Lyman's own case cleaning solution at a relatively low strength, and it would be convenient for me to leave the fluid for about a week.

Has anyone seen any tank damage over that period of time? Any period of time?

Thanks!
Dave

Use it as directed.

Drain it out. Save it in a jar, then pour it back in. They say to not leave it in the tank for more than a few hours if not using it. It can leave scale, and film on the tank, and affect its cleaning ability.

Come on now lazy is as lazy does. (This is coming from one of the biggest lazy dudes there is.)

I think there is a thread going about how some people seem to think that directions apply to everyone else. Only playing a little here.

I drain my sonic cleaner every time. Also make sure you UNPLUG IT WHEN NOT IN USE. We had a member that had a Hornady unit nearly catch fire when he left it plugged in for a very long period of time. I have seen several others that friends own. All of them say when not using it to do the following.

1 Unplug it.
2 Empty the tank.
3 Wipe the tank clean.
