powder scales

Can anyone recommend a good scale.I was thinking of rcbs 10-10 or 5-10

If you're not considering digital, either of those would serve you well.

Virtually all of the powder scales now on the market are very good.

I would, however, recommend staying away from Lee's Safety Scale. I have never been at all impressed.

When you get your scale, also get a set of scale check weights.

I have three scales: an O'Haus 5-0-5 and RCBS 10-10 and an RCBS digital. Of the three, I prefer the 10-10 because of it's quick responce when "tricling" in powder. If I am doing spherical or flake for the handguns I tune in the through with the digital and go from there. I can suggest only spend the money you can because it will last a long time.

The Dillon Eliminator digital is just a few bucks more and has a 900 grain capacity and comes with a check weight. It runs on battery, or AC and so far, mine has been excellent in every respect.

The 5-0-5 and the 10-10 are popular beam scales, but the digitals are simple, getting cheaper every day (Pact has a unit for $79) and are MUCH easier to use IMHO.

The only two scales I would recommend against is the Lee, mentioned above and the Hornady $25 beam scale. Just about everyone else makes a pretty decent scale nowdays.
