w 748 powder

I just inherited a couple of pounds of winchester 748 powder and was wondering if it is good for 7.62x39. I havent found any data for it.

That powder is very bad for everything and can not be used for anything...so I will do you a favor and if you just ship it to me I will pay the shipping cost and the hazmat fees and then I will go to the trouble of "disposing" of it. I will do all of this for you as a favor from me to you. Oh, don't worry, you can thank me later!

I like this website for loading info:

Look it up there.

It's not listed on Hodgens site. I think that may be because it is not fast enough for the 7.62x39. It works great for a .223 or .308 so save it for that. I use 322 for the 7.62 and 4198, Benchmark and a bunch of others work well.

Its a great powder for a 223 or 30-06. Not so much for the x39. H4198 and RE-7 seem to be top 7,62x39 powders.

Winchester 748 is an absolete rifle powder. Even if you load .223s & .308s with it the bullets will just bounce-off anything you shoot at. My place is alittle closer than the other guy so you can just go ahead and mail that no good Winchester 748 to me instead.

I checked all my books that have 7.62X39 recipes. I don't have any recipe for W748 in 7.62X39.

e-bear, it sounds like the unanimous agreement of the masses is that you need to pack up that 748 and send half to me and half to warningshot. We'll properly "dispose" of it for ya.
