CZ 527 magazine compatibility

Hello, I recently bought a CZ 527 in .22 Hornet and the magazine is not long enough to allow me to use the Hornady 40-gr V-max bullets. It has a spacer in the back which takes up much of the magazine space. I was wondering if anyone out there had ever tried using a magazine for a .222, .223, or .204 with .22 Hornet ammo to see if it would provide the extra length necessary to feed this round.

Thanks,
Cory

think it won't be any problem, but better go where you bought the CZ and check the 222 rem magazine, if the bullets fits let me know I have plenty of 22 hornet fired once brass that need to be reloaded. By the way the magazines are the same the difference is the spacer in the 22 hornet mag.

My only concern is that the feed lips do not go all the way back, and I am sort of afraid the rim of the hornet brass might hang up in the back where the lips start.

magazine modification needed, don't mess w/ those lips

It has been a while back since I have done this. Push the pins out of the magazine to release the plastic spacer/block. File the back portion off and redrill a hole and re pin it back this should give you more room for the longer bullet tips. I did this to one magazine of 3 so I could load the longer profile BT bullets.

Thanks, for the recommendation. Did you just re-bend the magazine follower?
