Springfield Model 15 takedown screw

I was taking my Springfield Model 15 22 apart to clean it up and when I unscrewed the takedown screw the barrel and the sear came off like it should but the actual screw from the inside of the stock has some type of a metal spacer or bushing of some type that is not easily held on to by any tool. I have been working at it for a while and still cannot figure out why the screw will not come out of there. Is there a trick to removing the screw from that spacer and from the stock.
What is that part in the stock called ?
Is there a trick in taking it apart ?
I have a picture of it from the inside of the stock.
I am tearing up the takedown screw head trying to un screw it. I would just cut it off and replace it but replacement parts for this model do not even mention a spacer inside the stock that the screw goes into.
Thanks,
Phil

IIRC, it is not supposed to come out. The factory made it that way to prevent loss of the screw. You can clean around the screw without removing it.
