Armscor 1911 stainless barrel
Pistol came new with a bore that is much rougher than tool mark chatter could make, and only in spots. It is new. Sent it back and got it back without reply, except for a target marked 22 yards and about a 3" group. Not to expect greatness a bargain basement prices, I wonder if a drop in barrel would likely improve accuracy. The current set up locks up tightly and feels as good as my Gold Cup. Would "drop in" barrels mate with the Armscor clone?

It sounds like your cheap, ugly barrel is an excellent match to your cheap 1911. Why break the Karma?
Once you buy a decent barrel (at least $130 with shipping) and have a gunsmith check the headspace and lockup you'll have spent the same amount as a low end Colt or a slightly improved SA. That's bad economics. It works - shoot it. If you want better accuracy try a tighter bushing, first. |
