Like a Kid in a Candy store!

I just picked up my first SIG! It is a 1992 west German production P228 9mm.
I have never owned or even shot a Sig before I bought this (still have not shot it I just picked it up. But I have to say I am impressed. I think this is the 9mm I have been waiting for. It feel rock solid, looks great, fits my hand like a glove. And then there is the trigger! The DA trigger is heavy but Smooth and VERY consistent. I love shooting DA revolvers so this will feel right at home for the first shot. The SA trigger isn't quite as nice as my 1911 or S&W 18 but few guns I have fired were. It is very crisp and weighted perfectly for a defensive handgun in my opinion. Well I have rambled enough you guys want pictures lol.

Unfortunately I am on call all weekend but cant wait to get to the range on Monday.

Very nice P228. I had one back in the '90's. They shoot very well.

Congrats! Sigs are always top shelf.
I love my factory nickel P228; it feels better in my hand than the P226.

Dimensionally, are the P228 and P229 the same?

I know the receiver of the P228 is stamped whereas the P229 is milled. Other differences? Frames?

From what I have read the dimensions of the 228 and 229 are the same. I just hope I can find some 9mm once I get off this call shift on Monday.

Nice. I have always wanted to add a sig to my collection. I just never brought myself to purchase one. . .

I have always been curious about Sigs but were not really on my list. Then I saw the price on this one and couldn't pass it up.

I just got back from the range for the first time with the 228. I have to say I think I am a Sig fan for life! I have never shot a handgun so accurately. The trigger is phenomenal. The only thing I think I might do is find a set of grips that a a tad bit fatter. I also had some issues with some cheap mags that came with it but that's not the guns fault, ill have to get more Sig mags.

Here is my target at about 17 yards. The range was a 25 yard so I just estimated between 15-20 yards.

And that little guy that snuck in on the bottom... hes going to get spoken too later.

Congrats on a really nice looking P228 and fantastic shooting!!

The P228 is a stunning pistol. Mine is a Swiss Zurich Police trade in that I picked up about 4 years ago. Along with my P226 it is my top favorite 9MM pistol.

Congrats. Nice pick up. The P228, outside of the elusive P210, is my favorite gun out of the Sig line.

I have a feeling this won't be my last Sig. Tax season needs to get here fast haha.
