Primer Sizes...
Ok Guys, found a good deal on some primers at today's local gun show.
my question is did I buy the right ones. I bought: Federal No. 100 Small Pistol Primers (Red Box) Federal No. 150 Large Pistol Primers (Red Box) I will be reloading: 9mm, 115 gr FMJ for practice. Most of my brass is once fired CCI Blazer Brass. .45 ACP, 230 gr FMJ for practice. Most of my brass is Federal AE Brass, and a little of the CCI Blazer Brass. Did I get the right primers? Am I on the right track? Still waiting to get a press though.

Yup. You did well. The Primer sizes have been standardized-any brand of proper size(e.g.-small pistol etc) works with any good brass.

You done good. Just watch out for .45 ACP brass with small primer pockets. It's not very common, but one will sneak in every once in a while. Crunch!!!

I think the .45 ACP brass with small primers is headstamped "NT" for non-toxic, designed to be used in indoor ranges. I have run across a few rounds but not enough to be sure about the manufacturers and headstamps.

I have run across quite a few 45 NTs at our local range. All of them were Winchester.

Thanks guys for all the info, feeling relieved now. Get to use the primers when I scratch up the money for the rest of the equipment.
Shoney, The primers I found go for 30 each box plus shipping from Midway, so...65-70 dollars total. I found them for $27 per box, and negotiated the guy down to $25 per box, so I got 1000 small primers, and 1000 large primers for $50 flat. The deal isn't earth shattering, but the fact that we have next to no primers around here most of the time now, I thought it was worth it.
