I'm sure Ruger would be willing to fix it for you at their cost- just give them a call. If you are a DIY guy you can take a bore mop- coat it with Flitz and put it in a drill chuck to polish out each cylinder hole as well.

FWIW, the hard/no extraction problem with my BearCat disappeared when I changed ammo brands.

The Shopkeepers are made only for resale through Lipsey's distributers and you will find them on Gunbroker like I did mine.

I got lucky I think, relatively speaking, and cought one listed with a buynow price of $530 with free shipping and no extra CC fee. My FFL charged me another $30 so I got it for a grand total of $560.00 and I can't wait to get it to the range.

But there in lies the problem, no .22LR available in this area. I have a 333 box of Winchester I think it is, but I don't want to make a first trip to the range with only one type of ammo just in case it doesn't like what I have.

Just got my shopkeeper; extraction of spent brass is nearly impossible with most brands of ammo (Agulia maximums seemed easier than others). Does seem to be improving as I shoot her. Live rounds have to be shoved in with finger pressure.

Ive heard other members here and on the ruger forums mentioning shopkeeper extraction problems.
Are the cylinders are this first batch a little out of spec on the tight side?
Or is it the shortened eject rod?
Something else?

My BearCat took on a whole 'nother personality, when I got it a new pair of shoes.

This is the 5th BC I've owned, over the years, including a SBC - and the first one that shot to the sights for me, so I'm keeping it.

As I mentioned above, I had chambering & extraction difficulty also, which dissapointed me - until I thought to try a different brand ammo, which was a miracle cure.

I sure wish that the factory would offer Bearcats with adjustable sights. I would definitely buy one.

The Bearcat is one of the few revolvers that I have sold/traded. I traded one for a SingleSix .22lr/.22mag convertible. At least I can hit something with the SingleSix.

This Baercat

became this Single Six. I just wish .22mag was cheaper. I like how it shoots.

For drools & giggles, here's some BearCat eye candy.

A Bowen .22 Mag convertible w/adj sights on the old lightweight frame.

A couple Alan Harton did, in .32 H&R, for Boge Quinn on New Model Super BearCat frames.

No wonder I'm partial to stags on BearCats.....................

Both will last several life-times.... Comes down to personal preference really. I like blued, and probably would buy the blued if it were me even if costs a bit more.... Just like I recently picked up a blued New Vaquero which cost $30 more than the bright SS New Vaquero next to it....

My wife sure likes 'her' Bearcat. Fits her hands ... and as she says... it's 'cute'/'adorable'

. Oh, and she can hit the cans and steel targets with it too.... Win win...

This around sounds untrue, but it is true. Back around 1960 when Bearcats first came out, my Dad bought one for me as gift. He had a FFL. The price of the new gun was $28 and change. I saw the invoice and know this is true. (I used to have the invoice and may still have it with some old gun papers) I still have that revolver and no, it is not for sale. It has not been updated.
