tips on field judging deer

dose anyone have any useful tips on field judging rack size of deer?

Ear tip to ear tip is approx 15 inches.

Yeah, for whitetail. Mule deer will run 18" to 20", ear tip to ear tip.

Anybody hear of the "shrinkage" factor? I carry a good set of full-size binos in my fanny pack for just that reason. Ever shot a deer only to go" I shot one of these little guys last year!!"
