Enfield No#4 Awesome Video, I want one!!!

Recently I bought a Fakerized Jungle Carbine, I like it although its not original. It got me interested in the No#4 Enfield, I have decided it will be my next purchase, along with the reloading dies and components for it.

Then I watched this awesome Video by IraqVeteran8888 and I am sold.
At the end of the Video the Rapid fire is the coolest part, it is almost as fast as a semi auto.

Here is the Video , and if you have pictures of your No#4 please post them, I really like the looks of them.

After seeing how these can be fired so fast, I check every bolt action model for the same bolt handle to trigger relationship.
Wouldn't buy one without it, now.

Do it! Every LE is unique and has it's own story to tell.

That is the first time I ever saw the rapid fire with the middle finger on the trigger. Is that the way they trained? that is a cool design if planned that way.

Yes, this is common and Commonwealth Soldiers were trained to use the middle finger for rapid fire. During WW1, the story goes, that a German ground force were met with such rapid fire they assumed it was machine guns, it was in fact British soldiers using "mad minute" techniques with SMLE's.

Using the middle finger for rapid fire is as old as the hills in club rifle shooting in Australia ...

.

These are my Enfield faves. Great rifles. Every C&R guy should
have one. My very first C&R was a No.4 rifle Mk I. They are
sweet and accurate shooters too.

These guns are fast, that's for sure. The current world record for aimed
bolt action fire was set in 1913 by a musketry instructor in the British Army,
Sergeant Instructor Snoxall, who placed 38 rounds into a 12 inch target
at 300 yards in one minute.

The Australians had a technique, using the thumb and index fingers to work the bolt, and slapping the trigger with the smaller fingers of the same hand, could put out their 'Ten rounds, rapid' in ten or twelve seconds. That was aimed fire for effect, minute of torso accuracies. In 1915 a German battalion walked into a smaller unit of Diggers and were decimated. The living put their hands up and surrendered. The German officers swore they were under machine gun fire.

I've tried the technique, it works fine, but I know I'm not as fast as those Australians were.

Georgous Rifle in the top picture, the two No5s look good too.
My Fakorized No 5 Is like the one in the middle, it groups nice, but I had to drift the front sight way left. It kind of bugs me, as the sight picture looks funny, and the ear seens to be in the way with it over like that. I would like to have a sight like the one on the bottom Rifle thats adjustable for windage.

Thanks TXH. She is nice. It's one of the No.4 Mark II's that were
around a while back still in the "mummy wrap". I unwrapped it
and cleaned it up. The pic in the middle is of an unfired no.5 that
I lucked into years back. I've never seen another one in the flesh
in my life. Stone mint.

The sight that you mentioned on the No.5 is an aftermarket target
sight made in England. I wanted one for similar reasons as you,
but also wanted it because I hunt with this rifle. Many pounds of
sausage harvested by this no.5 rifle.

It's made by Parker Hale and is made for the No.4 & 5 rifles. I'm not sure
if it is still made. I purchased mine off of Ebay 5 or 6 years ago.
Great sight. This one came with an adjustable iris, which was a
nice bonus. This is definitely a worthy accessory to an Enfield
rifle. Very easy to install. Model PH5C.

Here are some better detailed pics of this sight.

You guys have beautiful examples.

TX Hunter: Soon after I bought my first Enfield (a #5), I wanted to buy a #4 in order to limit wear on the #5, and it cost less.

The LE virus' only cure resulted in two #5s and four #4s. Don't know how to post photos.
Are you guys also thankful that the chic ARs attract vast amounts of cash that limit demand for Enfields etc?

That started off as a sporter with a cut barrel. I had seen pic's of No4 "Tankers" so I used old unserviceable foreend, upper hand guard and started cutting.

Barrel with front sight soldered in place.

Modified wood.

Makes a great little brush gun. It does shoot flames and is loud.

Mucho thanks... And too d**m cool, i will have to do some research on Tanker Enfields.. If you ever shoot that and get a photo, would love to see it..

Again many thanks.... Seems a fitting way for a sporter to be "saved"

Indy,

Just so you know, there was never any such thing as a Tanker Enfield in official designation terms - they are a civvy market hybrid much like the Santa Fe rifles.

Sorry I dont know how to post your question, but yes I am very very glad that the ARs and AKs attract so much revenue, and keep these rifles out of the spotlight. Its a blessing not a curse.
