what is the logic for not using stainless steel bore brushes to clean a rifle? Surely the brush is not hard enough to scratch the bore is it?
Seems like this would work better than bronze brush to remove copper fouling. |

Stainless brushes are not recommended as they will scratch the bore. It may take out fouling a bit more quickly, but as I understand it, the scratches left by using a stainless brush will cause the fouling to build up faster.

bore treatment
scrubbing, if necessary, requires care. don't get too rough in there.
use a really good cleaner. many companies make good ones. http://www.bestdefense.com |

My gun smith hates stainless steel bore brushes, he has seen too amny barrels ruined from their use.
