Hornady rim thickness?

A buddy of mine wanted to come over and shoot his Ruger M77 Mk II in 7-08. We shot it and noticed that it wouldn't eject the spent cases. We inspected the bolt and found nothing wrong.

So I got some of my 7-08 ammo (reload with R-P case) and it ejected fine. My Remington 700 would eject his ammo, just not very well. Upon closer inspection, the rim on his cases was visibly thinner. His ammo was new Hornady Interlock. I did not attempt to measure it.

Has anybody else experienced this?

I've never experienced anything like this but it's possible. You may want to contact Hornady about the cartridges and try another brand.

The SAAMI drawing show a rim thickness from .044" to .054"
