live round stuck in crimper - Page 4

Well, I had to ask why I couldn't send it back (even though I obviously don't need to) and here was my response:

Before I saw the picture you sent I envisioned the cartridge stuck all the way up in the die, in which case it would be different than live ammunition because it would have been contained just like a round in the chamber of a gun. If loose ammunition goes off it's not particularly dangerous because the cartridge case can't contain a great deal of pressure. It just goes "pop" and the bullet goes a few feet. But if the cartridge is contained inside of a steel die it will go off just like if it were fired from a gun.

Willrusselville, Pat could be reading this thread, if not I suggest someone tell Pat to read R. Lee's book on modern reloading, the first thing to go when the primer lets go is the primer, that is without bullet, with out powder, and forbid if the primer is a FEDERAL, seems Lee thinks the Federal primer is the most powerful primer in the world? ME? I want the most powerful primer.
