How short is legal?????

Hello I'm new to your web site, heck I'm new to the WWW.

But could some one that knows the law tell me whats the shortest legal overall length of a shot gun can be, with out a license?
I know the barrel has to be 18" long.

Thank You

18" unless you own one of these, which are banned in California as they consider them to be a sawed off shotgun.

Click onto the specifications when you're there and look.

The Thunder 5s in .410 look pretty useless, given the marginal ballistics of .410 rounds in a pistol length barrel. That said, I wouldn't want to get hit by one. They used to offer conversion cylinders for .45-70. If I could find one so equipped, it might make a novel back up piece for my Marlin 1895SS.

45-70 in that!!??

Invented by a Carpal Tunnel Surgeon drumming up a little business no doubt...

I recall shooting a TC Contender with a 300 gr. 45-70 cartridge inside.Despite ergonomic grips, ports,a wrist brace and good form, my hand went numb for a while after the first shot.

Wow, I've got a Marlin lever action too in .45-70 except it's an 1895C.
