Which one, Sig or HK?
Finally decided to actually try a 9mm and now the choice. I have always favored Sig but had good luck with the HK too. Which Sig model is the favorite and how do the two compare. That would be Sig versus HK....

You can't go wrong with either. Sig and HK both make excellent guns.
Try them out and get the one that fits your hand and gives you better groups. |

I just purchased my second p229 in 9mm. It's a blackwater with 4 20rd mags. It's a toss up between the two.

I don't care for the HK - but I do like the Sig if you're really looking for a DA/SA weapon.
The best gun in a 9mm from Sig, in my opinion, is the 226 model - and I especially like it in all stainless. If you're looking for something smaller - then I would look at the 239 ( single stack model ). Kind of depends on what you want the gun for ( 226 is a lot heavier / and wider since its a double stack mag ...). The best 9mm's I have are all 1911's ....Wilson, Baer, Kimber, Springfield, etc all make guns in 9mm. |

The 226 is the best 9mm SIG. It's a proven design with a huge amount of aftermarket support.

Both are great guns, nothing wrong with either.
I purchased a 9mm about a month ago...I looked at the Sig P226 and the H&K P30. I bought the HK P30. Not because there is anything wrong with the Sig, but the P30 is just a sweet piece. You really have to put one in your hands to appreciate it. |

Using the option listed. Long guns H&K. Pistols Sig Sauer.
If you're open to other choices, I highly sugget trying a Springfield Armory Xd or XdM.

Pick the one that YOU like better. They are both fine pistols, you can't go wrong with either. It comes down to grip and ergonomics. Only you can make that call.

IMHO Sig P220 Carry will hold its own with any HK and has a smooth trigger out of the box

HK or SIG
Ferrari or Porsche. Just kidding. You will be happy with either. Some models will retain their value more than others. My next nine will be an x-5. An absolutely amazing pistol.
I like to pick up a pistol and set it down a few times. It allows me to get a feel for the gun. Get whatever feels best in your hand. That being said, I own more than a few guns that don't "fit" me. |

I prefer HK in the P30 family. it just feels Comforatble, but the unique mag release takes some practice getting used to.
The Sigs are nice, but just don't fit my hand as well...thought as a second choice it's certainly nothing to scoff at. |

Both guns are the BMW and Mercedes-Benz of the gun world.
They are great guns and classics. You can not go wrong with either.
For 9MM I have a Sig P226. For 45 I have HK 45, only con is that it comes with 10 rds, a more capacity mag is in the making by HK. I can carry both comfortably as concealed carry with no printing but I keep them at home for home defense. My main carry is Beretta PX4 storm in 9mm. A very reliable, sweet gun to carry and shoot! |

lol yeah....New member said what I've been saying...That's funny...Now I have to write more...
Anyways, yea both are great. But if you put a SIG and Hk in front of me. The 2 most equally matched ones...I'd probably go with the SIG. It would NOT be easy though. |

Sig P220 Vs. H&K USP. What a battle, But I say that the USP will win because it has H&K stamped on it.

Yes, its a necro-thread but a classic VS. question
If it was 10 years ago or so I'd have leaned heavily towards an aluminum framed P226 in 9mm. These days I'd trust H&K more in terms of QC and more consistent level of commitment to excellence. So H&K P30 or USP. Could it be the fact H&K is still made in Germany and SIG's are mostly made or assembled in U.S? Maybe. Would I prefer a BMW made in Germany or America. Seriously. You have to ask?
But if you find a LNIB P226 9mm from about the mid to late 90's. I'd say the SIG.

I just ordered a Sig 2022, but I have a thing for the P239, but the wallet just wasn't quite thick enough, which left me out of the Hk sweepstakes.

I have a HK USP -- nice but too big for a 9mm -- I may sell this to fund a possible Kahr purchase.
I had a HK P2000 LEM -- nice but did not fit me well, did not like the LEM -- SOLD. I have a P6 -- It is more practical than the USP for my use. =========================== If I am to do it over, I would get a Sig P228. =========================== |

Have an HK p2000 and a Sig P226. Bottom line for me, HK advantage -- durable, uber reliable, fits my hand to a tee. Disadvantage, DA/SA trigger isn't great. SIG -- Advantage, SRT trigger is awesome. Disadvantage, finish is starting to wear off outside of barrel and slide rails after 400 rounds. My preference is for the HK and plan on buying a P30.
