Vertical gun rack

I just finished this up. I think it turned out well for something made by someone with practically no woodworking experience and only a circular saw and drill to work with.

Looking good. What did you use to line the barrel cutouts? Will this rack be wall-mounted?

It's this stuff:

Couldn't find a domestic seller online, but you see the stuff at wal-mart, sears, etc these days.

It's not wall mounted per se but it's meant to sit along a wall. The guns are secure, I was able to shake the whole thing fairly hard and nothing even tried to fall out. Not obvious in the pic(or even looking at it) but there's a thin strip of wood on the bottom in the front that makes it sit tilting very slightly backwards and that seems to make all the difference.

It looks pretty good! I made the same sort of thing myself out of 2 x 4s, albeit a bit cruder, and I put a small box around the base to be able to lean my rifles.

Well done!

MentalEddy,

This is a 4 year-old thread. Cowman hasn't visited the forum in 3 years. It's doubtful he will respond.
