Chokes?
o all choke cylinders use the same threads or are they all different? I just bought a Stoger Uplander with interchangable Choke Tubes.
Depending on preformance, I may want to change Chokes. I want to stay inside the barrels and maybe go to a cylinder and an improved. Ideas? Thanks, ZVP |

No there are different types of chokes. Some examples are Remchoke, ProBore, Accu choke, Invector, Crio, etc. A stoeger uplander should use the Invector chokes

Mossberg chokes work in my Stoeger Uplander 20ga just fine. I understand that there are other chokes (remmington?) that will work in it also.

The threading is generally specific to a manufacturer, and some manufacturers have different choke systems for different models of shotgun. Remington has "rem choke" and "pro bore" systems which are not interchangeable. Most aftermarket choke suppliers have replacements for most popular manufacturers. Try trulock or colonial arms. good luck!

Check with Briley as to what chokes are the same. There are a few that can be interchanged, but most cannot

Thanks Charlie In MD - I knew the mossberg chokes worked but didn't know that the browning will too. Great info. Put that in my "favorite places" to keep that info.

Thanks!
Years ago I had a non choked pump (full choke) and I never learned about these removable chokes.
Thanks for all your help explaining these things! Always puzzled me! ZVP |
