1960's 16 deaths from school shootings (single incident)
1970's 16 deaths from school shootings (7 incidents)
1980's 14 deaths from school shootings (9 incidents, 6 deaths in 1989)

1988 Prozac released despite 27 deaths during clinical trials

1990's 67 deaths from school shootings (29 incidents)
2000's 103 deaths from school shootings (37 incidents)
2010's 61 deaths from school shootings (21 incidents) to date

1994-2004 64 deaths from school shootings (25 incidents) assualt weapons ban period

Not saying Prozac was the cause, however the timing is interesting and something changed at the end of the 80's or early 90's. sure would be interesting to see how many of these shooters were on some form of prescription drug, be it Prozac or some other anti depressant. I am not a believer in coincidents.

Because "They" do not fear drug companies.

Just my opinion, but I think most of the people on these medications are offspring of parents who were probably illegal drug users prior to pregnancy. It started in ernest back in the 60's and hasn't stopped since. I believe in capital punishment for repeat offender hard drug users that are costing our society billions. Even after detox or rehab, they are back hitting the needle or smoking meth or crack. To me they are no better than zombies. Me, I find it more enjoyable to just pound down a couple of bottles of tequila.

The use of the word blame gives me pause. Does anyone else see the similarity in arguments for blaming the drug companies for the ill effects of their products in a minority of cases and blaming guns in these shootings?

Any contemplated legislation or regulations of the pharmaceutical industry potentially threatens the average drug recipient in the same way gun regs affect the average gun owner.

I am aware that the over medication of America is a problem, however.
