Well, dove, quail, turkey and deer take up September through December. There's always calling coyotes or baiting mountain lions. While the Texas limit is two for javelina, there's no set season.
And you can always go back to your deer hunting territory to fix stands, check for trails and bedding areas and just scout out the countryside. The more you know about it, the better you'll do next season. And reload ammo, upgrade equipment, and just put the gear in shape to start all over again in September. Or, just ask the wife or sweetheart if she has any suggestions. , Art |

Shoot clay targets and lots of them.
Go bird watching. Don't knock it, I've learned a lot about upland birds and waterfowl this way and it's helped come hunting season. Of course I look a little out of place among the bird watchers in my camo but they've gotten used to it. |

I usually go on one pheasant hunt (game ranch). Ice fishing, bunny hunting, fly tying, checking over my guns for a little extra cleaning.
