I am a trained shotgunner I am, I am

I received a copy of my Marine Corps personnel file that I had requested to back up a benefits claim. I had to prove that I was in the Republic of Vietnam. One of the few records I gleaned from it showing presence in RVN was a record of completing the shotgun familarizaation course at a range called "MCAS, Chu Lai, RVN". I don't even remember ever shooting a shotgun in the Corps, but I recall shooting an M-16 out at the bomb dump. I wish I could recall what I shot.

Some days I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast, let alone something decades ago.

The mind ages quickly. I remember going to the bomb dump for weapons familiarization twice. Once was with the recently released m-16 and I thought the other was the M-60 machine gun. So much form my combat readiness.

I was out shooting Skeet today ...and managed a nice 97 ...( out of 100 ) not 200, so quit you're laughing ....

So there is hope for you ...because if I can do it ...anyone can do it ( even a Marine...)
