I have the same setup, but I'll admit to using a Protector "U"-shape front rest with plywood shims occasionally. (It isn't as hard to lug around!)

Ah, but I can back my TrailBlazer within a few feet of the bench at my local range. Not much lugging. I also have a couple of light weight plastic rests.
