What guns and rig did Doc Holliday use?
I'm curious and I've been wanting to get a cowboy rig.

Like most gunmen, Doc carried a number of guns and holsters.
Mostly he seemed to use a nickel Colt 4 3/4" SAA, and a standard 1880's holster and belt. He also favored Deringers, and a double barreled shotgun sawed off in front of the fore end and behind the grip. He carried it slung under his shoulder on a cord. Open the coat, and the barrel would swivel up to firing position. There were also a nice varity of daggers and brass knuckles owned by the Doc. A good bet for an authentic rig would be one of the 1880's type holster and belt rigs from El Paso Saddlery. The original company was S.D. Meyers of El Paso, and they made the originals used in the Southwest. |
