I wonder what the result would be with the same load in .357 Magnum cases, and of course, shot from the guns that could shoot it. I am looking for good loads for the small frame Ruger SP101 3", and using 38 Spl +p loads in .357 cases makes sense to me.

7.5 - 8 GR of Power Pistol is a pretty nice mid range 357 load with most any 158 Gr bullet

If referring to the post about the SP101, in my case the 3+", even low range .357 loads are ridiculous to shoot in this gun. For me, there are better ways to have fun shooting or feel confident in SD situations. The very same loads that are punishing in the SP101 are no problem in the bigger GP100, built for the caliber. I have some 125g XTP, .38 Spl +p loads in .357 cases that are ready to test.

Am thinking strongly about getting the gun ported.

I've always loaded 6gr of Power Pistol under a 158gr LSWC-HP as a defense load(per alliant data). Pretty stout.
