I would like to build an experimental scope mount. I'm just not sure what material I should use. I am leaning toward aluminum, because the rifle itself is pretty heavy. I need to know primarily, what grade of aluminum to use. Should I use 2024-T36, 5052-H38, 6061-T6, or 7178-T6?

Ok George, but I'm not sure that is exactly his field. Thanks for the help. Randy
