M34 bore leading

I recently purchased a M34-1 Kit gun 2 " bbl. I fired about 100 rounds shortly after I bought it and didn't have a problem. Today I fired another 100 or so rounds and when I went to clean it I found that the bore was so leaded I could not get a cleaning rod through the bore. After tapping the rod through and many, many pass's with a wire brush and bore cleaner I was able to clean it out. I was firing Remington .22 LR Thunderbolts.
What could cause this or is it common with 2 " .22s ? I fired the same ammo in my Ruger 10/22 and had no problem.
I have fired thousands of lead .38 wadcutters and never had this problem.

Try different ammunition. The batch of Thunderbolts that you have may not have received the wax treatment (or amount) that they should have. Thunderbolt, by the way, is about the sorriest American made ammunition you can buy. Look for some CCI and see if the problem does not disappear.

M34 leading

Guess your right Clemson. I shouldn't have expected much at .79 a box but other than the leading (which was enough) they shot OK

Change ammo.
I leaded my Colt ACE about as badly as you describe with that junk.
I think the lube is too thin and cheap to stand the jump from cylinder to barrel or floating chamber to bore. I take no chances, I shoot the ACE and .22 revolvers with plated bullets now.
