Your long range dream rifle.
I have wanted a Barrett MRAD in .338 Lapua Mag since the day they came out with a Leupold Mk 4 scope to get out to 1000 yards with accuracy. I consider that my long range dream rifle. What would be yours? (If you own one already, what is it?)
Note: Im talking 1000+ Yards here |

I'm anxious to try the one I've got at a grand; watched those magpul videos the other day; .308 at 1760? Unreal. Inspiring.

Mine's HK PSG-1. I know there's "better" rifles out there that weigh alot less, may be more accurate and easier to get here in the states but well.....it's a H&K and I'm a huge HK fan.

.243 Winchester
I started this build a while back and it has slowly been coming together here is what I have so far. Stevens 200 CF action .243 Win Heavy Varmint McGowan 1:7 twist Stockade tactical bolt handle, recoil lug, and lift kit SSS Competition trigger EGW 20 MOA base Leupold QRW rings Weaver 3-10X40 Tactical Grand Slam Mil-Dot scope HS Precision stock and bottom metal with detachable mag I will eventually upgrade the optics, and maybe the stock again. I really like the Mickey A5 and CDI bottom metal. They just aren't in the budget yet. I know this doesn't have a huge cool factor, but I get to shoot a lot cheaper.

Unlimited budget?
Well, I guess I'm short on details... I'd want something with really light recoil. Quite possibly 243AI. For optics, I've always wanted to try something from USOptics. Probably their 10-42x, though it is $4,220. Beyond that, I don't know.

The Chey Tac M-200 Intervention in .408 that Mark Wahlberg used to shoot the 5" tall Dinty Moore stew can at 1 mile. Not just A Chey Tac... THE Chey Tac from the movie, cause Marky Mark used it!!

I'm torn right now, and trying to decide between the Savage 111 Long Range Hunter in .25-06 or the Ruger Mark II Target in .25-06. I really like that caliber and both rifles I have in that caliber (older Model 77s, tang safety) are tack drivers. The two I've chosen, NIB, are withing $10.00 US in their MSRP and I'm trying to decide which I'm going to put on layaway.

I have a Savage LRP in .260 that fills the need for a 0-1000 yd rifle. I do want a Savage in .338 edge for the 1000-2000yds though.

That Savage, Paw Paw is one accurate dude, and I'd like one in .308 win maybe one day.

As for my favorite rifle? Idk there isn't just one dream rifle for me. There is the one below that is far from finished. Then.... GAP Gladius in .308 KMW Sentinel in 6.5x47L 7mm SAUM AI .338 Lapua Also throw a 6XC build in there.

A friend just cleaned up in the F-T/R events at Lodi, WI with a Barnard action, Bartlein barrel, Nightforce scope custom rig. I forget the brand of stock, but the bedding is what counts. I figure I could do a lot worse than copy his rifle. Doubt I can copy his skill, though.
