Double Rifle (SXS Style) that won't break the bank?

Is there such a thing as a reasonably priced BPCR (SxS style) double rifle. Quick search shows there are plenty in the 20K range but do any of the builders making the cheaper replica BPCR rifles make one in say the -2k range?

Can they be found used and in good useable condition?

I am drawn to the style and I never ever see them.

Not many of the Baikal/EAA/Remington Spartan double rifles have actually made it into the country. User reviews vary, $1000 is really cheap for a double rifle and sometimes it shows.

Cabelas has Sabati doubles in .45-70-300 Leverevolution and 9x3x74R for $3000;

Siace doubles start about $6000.

Retail for the Pedersoli Kodiak hammer double has crept up to $5000, which is a lot for that gun.

Chapuis used to sell an entry level double, but their prices start around $8000 today.

Thanks for the help guys.

Kind of what I was afraid of price wise. I think Blazer and a couple other companys are making them in the 5-8K range. Just wanted to make sure there was not something I had over looked.

I will probably either go with a Hi-wall or rolling block of some kind. I just wanted something a little different.

bakil(sp) the russian company that makes the sxs shotguns makes an insert for the shot guns to shoot rifle cartridges.
I think they made a 45-70 insert. IF you can still get them, it would put you under 600 or so for everything.

Look for a either a Valmet 412 or 512. They are available as double rifles & can also be fitted with shotgun barrels.
