Good new set-up?
I bought this ammo from Brownells - REMINGTON SLUGGER MANAGED-RECOIL RIFLED SLUG SHOTGUN AMMO.I have been told this ammo which is a rifled slug will work when shooting through a smooth bore barrel. I am going shoot at paper targets for accuracy with this ammo using my 18 inch tactical smooth bore see picture below, I assume my tactical barrell (no Choke) shown below has a smooth bore? I just ordered a picanny rail for it and also picked up a Tasco red dot scope for 25.00 from Walmart. Please let me know if this is good set-up for fun target shooting, I think it is? This is my exact gun.

I have never used a Tasco before but I have a cheap ($50) UTG ITA scope on my Mossberg 500 18.5 inch barrel that has worked well.

That is a Mossberg, right? If so, it's a smoothbore in either barrel.
OTOH, I doubt any $25 red dot will handle 12 gauge recoil for long. Long being more than 10 shots. Good luck on that..... |

You get what you pay for...
If you wnat a nice setup and it's worth it to you sink some money in it and get something that is proven and will work! Just saying...
