The OP has been silent after the first post. It would be interesting to know if he meant best at any price.

Another vote for the CM9. For the money I don't believe you'd find a better pocket nine. Sure it's not a Boberg quality, but you can also buy three of them for that price. I'd rather spend $350 for a Kahr and use the $600 on ammo, few spare mags, and a nice IWB/pocket holster.

I recently bought a small 9mm that so far I like very much though I'm not ready to tag it as the "best" yet. It has only been mentioned once to now - the Sig P290Rs. Barring surprise sit seems to have everything I want at a fair price.

I love my S&W Shield. Although, it is not quite a pocket pistol, but I would never carry a pistol in my pocket anyways.

Kahr
Another vote for the PM9. Mine is very reliable, high quality. But it and any 9 are a bit large for many pockets. My Kahr 380 is tiny and is easy to shoot accurately, though I stick with FMJ for reliable cycling; it took a while to break in and still doesn't always cycle HP ammo, but in 380 you probably want FMJ for better penetration.

for me
its my Colt Pocket Nine. I'm not a Kahr fan; and my Detonics Pocket 9 is one of the hardest recoiling guns I own.

Kahr pm9. Never had any issues with it. I shoot twice a week so it's had a lot of rounds put though it. We happen to actually have two and one cm9. They are all very reliable. Just as reliable as glock or sig IMO

Mellow C....I agree with you 100%. Love my LC9, nice tight pattern and yes you do need to practice with the trigger, but, now that I am used to the long pull, it is no big deal at all.

JERRYS.
I would love to hear more about the magazine being the culprit. It makes sense to me since the apparent problem is that as a cartridge leaves the mag it tips down and stubs the nose *way* low on the feed ramp which is steep. Perhaps we got a early production pm9 that had a different level of finish. I would not have described the outward finish as good- I ran a stone over the slide release, slide grip grooves- they would abrade skin. Even my mechanic fingers got dinged. We also shaved the frame since the bump on the rear was bruising my wife's knuckle. The inside finish was beyond stellar though. Precisely fitted and hand polished.

Total, you likely have a different pm9 then the rest of us. When kahr released the cm9 they changed the pm9. The big change was the trigger. The cm9 and pm9 now have the exact same trigger. Yours is probably better. The "old" trigger is much better. About 1/4" shorter. So anyone that has a pm9 produced before the cm9 has different internals. Of course kahr denies this but I have tested close to 100 guns and written all the sn down. It corresponds directly to the release of the cm9. If you are having fees issues it's likely the magazine

So a newer style mag would potentially fix this issue? Or is there something that needs to be done to the mags? I had speculated that a dimple or finger in the front of the mag might prevent the tip down issue, but was reluctant to tinker with them- they are very pretty.
I think my wife's PM9 was bought about 8 years ago, but from a very low volume store- it might have sat on the shelf for a looong time. Sorry for the hi-jack btw.

Another PM9 here. I have no problem with blue jeans pocket carry with it in a Desantis Nemesis. I have several thousands of factory and reloads through this gun, using 6,7 and 8 round extended Kahr mags and don't have the feed issues some of you have.

i tell you what gun fits so easily in my pocket its crazy, its cheap, it shoots like a dream
taurus 905 http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/32370 but it is a taurus and sometimes you can end up with a faulty one, but they are great guns, snappy, but still fun to shoot, but you lose a bit of fps with the short barrel, but surely itll still knock em dead also, you can get them for under 350 if you get it in black

I like my PM9 and while it won't feed 124+p golddots and won't strip the top round unless you use the slide release. I haven't had a malfunction with it for years probably because I shoot 147 ranger Ts and use the slide release to chamber a round
