Rifleman. 13 lined ground squirrel. I have both at the little hut in the woods and there is a difference.

Many a woodchuck have met their end to a .22 in the hands of my brothers and I growing up. I am sure whatever we had for ammo was probbaly the cheapest stuff around, Remington green box or something like that. Just hit them in the head or the neck and yoru good.

What he is showing, is clearly a Ground Squirrel or "Squeak". Not to be confused with our midwest SabreToothed Chipmunks. Our midwest chipmunks are primarily found in wooded areas and seldom, if ever, in open fields. Ground Squirrels, on the other hand, are seldom found in woods as they mostly prefer fields, pastures and even, you back yard. Sqeaks can outrun just about anything on four legs. ......

Yikes!

You guys have prompted me to check the Aguila web site. The site is still (forever?) under construction but has a teaser for INTERCEPTOR, 40 grain solids at 1470fps. Seems I have some shopping to do, sure hope they're not vaporware.

with a definitive DOWN slope position as the .22 is a "Skipper" when ricocheting off dirt.

Found out the hard way!

[after the second round skipping sound, it was followed by a thunk of timber impact.]

Another hunts I made sure I was from highest elevation ot impact ground.

try... 45gr winchester hollow point it works wounders and usually makes a mess hahaha

I've had good luck with 37 grain hollow tip ammo by FEDERAL.
