Dang those lead core bullets really did a number on that steel. What that just mild steel?

I have the same problem with 303 and 30-06. I never thought it would pop holes with lead bullets. Im trying to get my hands on some Armor plate so I can use the targets longer. 30-30 and 44mag will bend 3/8 steel plate

You have to get AR500 steel for high powered rifles. Try here

This was actually hardend steel, it is just a tad stronger than the mild steel targets I have, no comparison to AR500. With AR500 you just don't get the nice splatter effect!

Oh yeah. My Garand will put a nice clean hole through a 1/2" I-beam I use at the range. That's not steel core or jacketed either.

don't let a legislator of a certain stripe see that or your armor-piercing fun days are over.

Those AR500 targets are pretty nice, I just have to save up some pennies to afford them.

at 400 yards are you using standard iron sights or did you fix a scope to it?
