ruger 10/22 benchrest

do you think its possible to make a 10/22 a good benchrest gun. everyone tells me its impossibe.
i have a 10/22 converted to .17hm2
fajen legacy adjustable stock
volquarsten carbon fiber barrle 16 1/4 in.
volquarsten 17hm2 heavt bolt
volquaesten trigger

i havent put a new sear, disconnector,or hammer in it yet and the trigger pull is about 3 1/2 to 4 pounds at 100 yds. it gets about a 1 in. group

Any Suggestions?

i'm doin the same thing. mine is goin to have a 20" shilen match barrel with a hogue overmolded, and a bsa 6-18x40 sweet .22. i too will be adding the volquartsens performance trigger packs with the hammer, shear, and buffer. the main difference is mine will still be in .22lr. i'm hoping to get the best outta this setup as well. only time and ammo will tell

Don't go with that if you want a good consistent benchrest gun. The Hogue flexes quite a bit. I have one on a "play" gun, and it's great for bad weather/pest control, but not greatly consistent. 2" groups @ 50.

Glad I could help. With everything being said, I still love my Hogue, but not for benchrest.
