Sig P938 Review !!

No pics right now, it's on my phone, and I have to picture my phone picture...

250 rounds, 2 magazine, factory + x-grip 7 shot.

I had 2 jams in the x-grip 7 shot magazine, and 2 FTF's, one was no strike and the other was light strike, using both 115grains.

I used 3x 115 grain (2x pmc 9mm 115grain,-1 JHP federal old school box from 90's, no jams on these HP's.)

The other 2x boxes were 124grain spearlawman.

Right now it looks like it was shooting low, left with the x-grip magazine for some REASON!???????! It was like on and off, I could hit near the center but not hit it always. Still It's better than my J-frame shooting. I had the p238 and it didn't shoot on par also. Small autos are harder.

I notice the rear sight looked more LEFT than right, so I might send it back to fix the accurcy.

All in all I will trust this as a back up gun, 2ftf in 250 rounds is fine, but I will carry 115grain federal hp or spearlawman 124.

Gun is well made, the grips are metal, mine is the two tone model. Really like it, had lc9 and this definitely worth 2x the price.

I also had 1 FTF in my mossberg 88 using federal buck full loads, I will link that review later here[]. It was faint strike then 2nd was faint, believe primer was in deep. I think that might be what the 115grain 9mm was, primer set too deep, firing pin can't hit.

Not buying anymore x-grip magazines, staying with 6 shot factory.

Glad your happy with it. I just put a P238 Blackwood on layaway and I cant wait to get it. I'm gonna wait until the P938 is out just a little longer. I rented a P238 and immediately put one on layaway. I was so impressed with the trigger, sights, accuracy and handling of the gun that I already ordered reloading supplies for the 380acp. I had a LCP but I hated it, I'm relieved to find a pocket 380 that I like, plus I'm a Sig guy.

Good luck with your P938, i cant wait to add one to my collection of Sigs!

Yeah the grips on mine are made by houge but are metal!. I liked my p238 but I sold it because I felt the 380 is too wimpy of a caliber, and moving to 9mm or higher, nothing smaller for carry than that. I never had any problems with my p238, it was a great gun, but for just a tiny bit bigger, and smaller than lc9, I went with the p938.

Congrats on the new pistol. I am a fan of single action autos.

The X-grip mags are factory mags but with the X-grip extender, right? I cannot see how the mags could cause a light primer strike (note: FTF can mean failure to feed or failure to fire). It could be ammo specific since these occurred with PMC ammo only.

Two "jams" doesn't tell us a lot -- failure to chamber (needed a nudge to chamber)? Stove pipe? Double feed? Sometimes these are resolved with a thorough break-in. Sometimes these are mag related which I would suspect since they occurred with the 7 round mags. Kahr 7 round mags are known to be finicky in their PM9/CM9 pistols.

In any event, I would put enough of your chosen defense rounds through the gun to make sure it is 100% reliable with that ammo and that mag(s).

Ah I forgot, FTF failure to feed/fire, I had 2 FTFEED, they got stuck about half way in, both times using x-grip magazine/extender for pinky.

On top of that I had 2x ftFIRES. One no strike and nother light strike, then recocked hammer and fired on seconed time.

I know what you mean by the 380acp being a little light, but I'm a firm believer in if your attacker is not on drugs then any caliber would do the job, if he is on drugs then no pistol caliber would do the job. There are always exceptions but that seems to be a continuing theme among DGUs I've read about. So therefore I have no problem carrying a 380acp. But like I stated Istill plan on getting the P938, heck I want each model that Sig makes!

I love my P238. I have 2 of them and they both shoot great. I am better with the heavier of the two (One is all black and the other is the heavy rosewood). I have been wanting to shoot a 938 but haven't seen one available. I have read some great reviews on them though.

I just got me a P938 Extreme last night on trade to sit next to my P238 SAS. I still haven't gotten them to the range though! GRR!
