250gr.xtp hp 45.colt load question

I have loaded some 250gr xtp hp bullets under a full charge of h110 for deer hunting with my winchester 94 in 45.colt.These bullets are very acurate in my gun and I planned on using them, but recenty read that the 250gr xtp out of a rifle would cause the pistol bullet to break apart and lose penetration.Just looking for some opinions on the subject, whether these would still stay together traveling out of a 20" bbl at about 1700 fps.,or is the jacket too thin for this velocity.

According to Hornady the the velocity range of a 250gr xtp is 800-1600fps however their .45 240gr xtp is rated from 1100-2100fps. I'm guessing that if your initial velocity with the 250 is 1700fps it should not come apart.

Thanks for the info nate.I do have a Question concerning the 240gr.xtp's.I have some of the 240's but have not loaded them yet.what I would like to know is if it would be safe to load the 240's using the same powder charge for the 250's.Seems to me it would be alright, lighter bullet less pressure.Anybody have any thoughts on this,as I can't find any load data for the 240's unless I buy the hornady manual. The load would be 26.5gr.H110 under a 240xtp,winchester cases and cci mag primers. This is the load for the 250's.
