WTK quietest 223 can
Any help in finding the can with the lowest sound signiture for an
AR/M-16 would be great. I'm not interested in sub-sonic performance yet. TIA |

Any reputable manufacture is going to make a product that will suppress the boom. The only real choice is whether you want a can that is light with a limited life span or a heavier unit with a longer life span. Permanent, threaded or bayonet.
If you don't lock the bolt and go sub sonic, there is no possibility of total stealth. It ain't like in the movies....... |

I am uninterested in the Hollywood appearance of supressor performance. My question was which unit, in real life, was the most functional in it's performance. I don't need the lightest, highspeed and most "tactical" can with QD mounts, just plain quiet.A longer life would be preferable as I intend to use it for pest/varmint elimination on my families farm without irking the neighbors. I'll probably have my 10/22 and 22 mag threaded to accept the can as well.

In using a supressor on any rifle that fills the characteristics of an "assault" rifle requires pre-ban since no post ban can legally be equipped with a flash hider. Supressors are BATF classified as flash hiders if one were to attempt to install one on a post-ban rifle. Thanks for the heads up though. I've considered the Thundertrap for my LTR.

223 can
The cans from AAC are of very good quality. I have sold the local PD here the Adavanced Armament " Ranger " cans for their M4s and they have been very happy with them.

That is correct. Under the Clinton administration, suppressors are considered the ultimate flash hider. Bush Administration has maintained that interpretation. :barf:

The best .223 can in the bang for the buck category is American Mfg's Triple XXX can from what I have read and heard, both 1st and 3rd person.
Tho any good quality mfg can get you a nice one; Gemtech, AAC, AWC, etc... TR
