Remington 740 Fore-End screw
I recently acquired a Remington 740 30-06. I removed the fore-end today and there is an automotive type lock washer on the screw. Is a lockwasher necessary? Is this something that loosens? Is there a correct type lockwasher that I should find? thanks.

I'd suspect the washer is to prevent the screw from loosening and is needed.
While there is no washer shown on the parts list, there are three different screws listed, and Remington often didn't show parts like washers because they were semi-permanently pressed on screws. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...spx?catid=4338 |
