Our police department issues the P97DC.The problem is that I receive a hammer bite while shooting it. One other officer has the same problem w/ hammer bite.
My question is can the hammer of the P97DOA be dropped into the P97DC&havthe DC retain it's double/single action? |

Neil, I don't know. My best advice would be to contact Ruger. Another answer for you might be to bob the hammer spur. George

George thnks for the reply. I've thought of bobbing the hammer but I was hoping that someone with experience "smithing" Rugers would know if it could work.

I really doubt it Neal. I would assume that they would not have a SA sear notch cut on the DAO hammer. There would be no need for it. As George said, it would be much simpler to bob your existing hammer. I can almost guarantee that Ruger would not sell you a hammer directly, due to the fitting that would be involved.
