You can go to http://www.gunbroker.com/ and get an idea what people are asking and at what condition.

You are just posting and asking people for answers... Do some research. I would offer you $50, would that make you happy?

OP - there are several gun-selling sites. If you investigate an auction-style site, look at the CLOSED auctions, NOT the open ones. That way you'll see what they are actually selling for, not just what someone is asking

I haven't seen a model 59 in a long time .../and I'm no expert on anything made by Winchester ...but I think they all had aluminum receivers --- and some of them had, what I will call a strange barrel on them ( a thin steel wall / wrapped in fibreglass ). They were sold as a light weight upland hunting guns / or a kids gun ... and the value I've seen on them is pretty low ( around $ 50 - $100 ) as I recall.

The Remington Sportsman - 12ga -- came in pump versions, semi-autos etc ...so hard to tell from your note what you have .... but $ 100 - maybe $150 on those as well...in my opinion.

Neither of them are particulary sought after guns / or collector guns --- but some guys just need to have one of everything Winchester or Remington made ...so they're problaby sellable. My costs are just based on gut feel / based on what I see in the used gun stores in my area ....(and I corrected some of my spelling )...

My book shows a Win.59 standard grade in good condition at $450 exc $650.Pigeon Grade Good condition $850 exc $1500

The book shows the Remington M58 Sportsman good condition $200 exc $300

I do not have the newest edition of the price reference book so these prices could be a little lower than the values listed in a newer book, but they should not be off a great deal.I hope this helps.

Jim, the 59s all had the fiberglass wrapped barrel. The Model 50 it was a variant of used a more traditional all steel barrel.

The 59 was the first common shotgun using choke tubes. The floating chamber it shared with the 50 was designed by Marshall Williams of M1 carbine fame.

I wrote a piece on the 59 over on THR you may find educational.
