Unlikely place to find Quality Bullets

A friend asked me to go through my recycle box and pull all the 9mm brass I had that I was going to recycle.

While going through the box, I found about 200 bullets pristine bullets. (185 grain, JHP for my .45 ACP) Turns out the niece (3 years old) has been playing in the bullets. (Nothing else is available for her to get in to in my reloading area)

I just thought it was so cute, I had to share it with you guys.

Kids will get into everything. If they are lead bullets make sure you get them up out of her reach.

I'd venture to say that she swallowed zero. He said she's 3, not 6 months.

Thats right 3 yers old. Most cases of children swalling items is betwen the ages of 6 mo and 3 years old.

Here read this.....

Chances are she wouldn't tell you if she did.

I am sure she has not swallowed any. She is in to counting. But if by chance she blows a hole in the potty chair, I'll let you know. She is well past putting things in her mouth.

Sorry, going back to read this, I guess it might sound a little flippant, not meant that way. She washes her hands after playing with them (And reminds Uncle Buck that Aunty Buck is going to find out if I do not wash mine).

Girls LOVE shiny things...
Swallowing a lead bullet wouldn't be of much consequence, any more than having a lead bullet remain in your body (provided you survive getting the lead bullet into your body).
Breathing in lead dust (or lead oxide or organic-lead compounds) would be very very bad.
This also applies to drinking mercury vs breathing in the vapors over a boiling pot of mercury.
It's the lungs, nose, eyes, and tongue where the BIG problems are.
Don't smoke or drink or eat, don't pick your nose, don't rub your eyes, don't suck your thumb, don't breathe in case-cleaning dust...wash your hands and blow your nose after.

This morning she helped me process a bunch of brass for reloading. I wish I had a camera so you could see her with her dust mask on.

(We emptied the cases from the tumbler and then she helped me deprime them)

I must not have enough lead build up in me yet. I've had pressure, but never shot lead into the commode!

I wonder if we shouldn't all be wearing masks...frankly, I'm not planning on starting.
