Beretta BL4
So I took my old BL4 out to the skeet range and discovered that the ejector on the bottom barrel is not working properly. It either doesn't work at all or only knocks the empty shell about halfway back.
I cleaned it as best I could but had the same results. Anyone have any ideas? I hate to think about what a replacement part would cost on a shotgun that has been discontinued for 40 years....

Hate to be that guy but "bump."
I'm hurting for ideas here, even calling Beretta was little help, they told me clean it...

Sounds like it might be hard to get the cleaning solution in far enough???
Have pressurized air? maybe work solution in while manipulating the ejector manually? Then shoot some air in around the pin and see if that helps? i do not know the gun you own but that is how I would approach it if it were mine... Brent |

You don't need to automatically think "replacement" .
I would suggest that you hie thee to a (double) gunsmith, and not some AR parts-changer. . Last edited by PetahW; January 13, 2013 at 11:06 AM. |

Thanks everyone.
Hogdogs, compressed air did the trick. I'm not sure what exactly was holding/slowing the ejecter up but whatever it was compressed air got rid of it. Gave it a quick cleaning and now its working perfectly. For those that wanted to know what a Beretta BL4 looks like here is a picture I found on Google. Mine is primarily a trap/skeet gun but I know people that prefer them for upland birds. http://rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/1019/lid/361

Glad my redneck methods helped out and saved headache and/or cash outlay...
Also, it may be time to invest in a professional deep cleaning since something was building up or a chip of something was obviously hanging the thing up... Brent |
