well what powder for 264 win mag

Hey guys what current powder will give me good velocity and accuracy with 120-140 grn bullets

I would go with the old favorite IMR 4831 or the newer Reloder22, if I was to be reloading a 264 Win Mag.

I HAve shot up many pounds of H570, H870, and H4831 in two 264WINMAG rifles.

I have used every .264" bullet from 85grs to 140grs in those two rifles. Both guns would take 120gr bullets to 3400fps, shooting flatter than a moonbeam in the process.

Reloading data is in the Feb 2005 No. 233 issue of the Handloader Ammunition Reloading Journal starting on page 34 . The artical is (New Powders in the .264 Winchester Magnum) The test loads were with RL-25, MRP2, Magpro, Retumbo and Magnum powder with the Speer 140 Gr bullet. Wolf Publishing Co s tell # is (928)445-7810 , they my have a copy of the No.233 issue.

I have that issue of handloader

Wil terry I wish they still made H870, 570, maybe I will try H4831
