GP100 rear sight pin moves under recoil
Each time I've been to the range with my GP100 the rear adjustable sight retention pin keeps moving out to the left after a few hefty rounds.
I can push it back and forth with my fingernail very easily although I have not been lucky enough for it to come out completely during fire. All I can think of is to install a tighter fitting roll pin OR pulling the pin and squeezing one end to swage it for a tighter fit on it's entry side of the frame Does anyone have any ideas otherwise? |

Push the pin out. Using a small ball peen hammer, slightly flatten one end of the pin. Reinstall the pin. If you are really worked up over it, put a small drop of blue LocTite on the pin as you reinstall it.

Also
you can remove the pin, clean it and put thread locker, or locktite red on it.
it will stop the movement. Ed |

Red LocTite will definitely stop the movement. Permanently. If you happen to bleed a little bit over to the rear sight itself, you will permanently bond the rear sight to the pin. That's why I recommend blue, but red will work.

YEA your right
The last thing you want to happen is to loose it.
blue works great, red will lock it. Red locktite mixed with a drop of oil has worked well for butting barrels on recevers also. a slight yaw bent into the pin, would cam it a little and prevent it from moving somewhat. If you thingk you might want to change it in the future I would use Blue locktite. I like red locktite though, I saved a lot of money on asprin with it. ..... I put the stuff on my kids lips 30 some years ago. still works. |

Wow! I was this >< close to mentioning a teeny film of red loctite on the ends as my third option but I was afraid I get the "never use loctite" lecture, LOL
I was considering the chance of bleed over into the sight itself. I may try the yaw or widening one end of the pin and tack it in place with some blue. Thanks! |
