Like new Rossi 44mag lever for a Browning 742

Would this be a good trade? A like new Rossi Model 92 in 44mag lever action rifle for a Browning model 742 semi auto 30-06? i cant afford 44 mag rounds, at lest not in this town. but i have alot of 30-06. please help

Browning 742?? I think you mean Remington 742. If it's a browning it would be a BAR. I would not do a trade for a used Rem 742. The used ones are plagued with problems. If it's for a Browning Bar I would consider the trade if the BAR is in good shape. Your best bet is to sell your 44 mag outright and then buy yourself a new Remington 750 semi auto in 3006 or 7600 in the pump action.

I don't dislike the 742's, had one and somedays wish I had kept it. But no way in hell would I make that trade.

I certainly wouldn't make that trade, but then I wouldn't get rid of the Rossi. A 44 lever is on my list of guns to own one day.
