Man, it looks like I missed out on a bunch of, er, laughs, in those other "test" threads! I wished I'd found them sooner...

I tell you what, that Dennis is gettin' ta be no fun at all. First he starts limiting smileys. Then post length takes a cut and just when things start gettin' really good, he goes and closes the playground.
Hummmm.....seems like the board is acting up again. I don't know if we'll ever get this thing right. I guess we'll just hafta do test after test after test.

uh hum, cough, cough <clearing throat>
test...Test...TEST....TEST
That's a test son, test I say!

Are there Cliffs Notes for these tests?
Can we use crib sheets?
Does reading someone else's test post constitute a breach of the honor code?
Who grades these tests?
Is a sliding curve used, or are they pass/fail?
Does speling count?
Are these tests approved by the National Home Study board?

I THOUGHT NOT!!!!!! These are not tests at all!!! All they are is a clever menas of allowing the Green sicko's a free space to roam!! I agree with sensop on his opinion of the green monsters! They remind me of a sea-sick Chelsea Clinton! Just as Chelsea can eat an apple through a chain link fence, so can those green abominations!!!

What do you test a "special announcement" for? Tensil strength? Hardness? Accuracy? Why are we testing it anyway? I'm so confused.

They closed the other test thread and I just don't want you, Sensop not to have a place to go when you come home, since this is your home, so I just named it this.

Now I'm certainly not trying to start an unfounded rumor or anything like that but I have it the highest confidential authority that all these test posts combined with the green goblins, gremlins or whatever and possibly invisible rays from buried flying saucers at the north pole or maybe Area 51 are causing all the slow loading problems with General Discussion.

Hows that for consolidating threads??

Hey! I just noticed this is my 101st post! And it only took me 19 months to get to 100.

The rule, apparently, is to hit "Submit" only once per post.

Also, apparently, once you hit "Submit" you must assume your post has been submitted - regardless of whatever indications you may or may not perceive.

It gets quite tiresome spending 45 minutes deleting post after duplicate post.

My patience is wearing thin.

I'M SORRY thats why after this morning this was happening I put a couple of post in different places to let people know if they get another message such as connection lost their post did go through and not to submit it again. What can I do to make this up to you, you make me sad, I'll just give you a extra Shiner when you get here. I know it gets tiresome and its just time consuming when there is so many other things that you could be doing besides cleaning up our mess ups. I'm sorry again. Please forgive me.

Terri,
It's all of us, Terri. I had eight duplicate posts - one right after the other! So I was trying to address the problem - not you. In the past 2 or 3 days I must have deleted somewhere around 40 to 50 duplicate posts. (Accursed computer machines!! )

Hmmm.

On the other hand, if I can get an extra Shiner ( ), I'm liable to do anything that must be done!!!

Oh Jeez! Realizing it's you(!), I better not say "anything"!!! I fear you'd come up with something difficult, painful and scary!!!
(And I'm NOT gonna wear that danged hat again - so don't even *think* about that!! )
-----

On top of the all this, I worked with our "local" Tech Support (they're in Georgia, I'm in Texas) from about 10AM until a bit after 2PM trying to figure out why it takes as long as FORTY-FIVE MINUTES for TFL to come up on my computer. !!

And if *I'm* having trouble, can you imagine what a mess this whole deal must be for Rich?

As he might say, "Oy!"

Sorry if it seemed I was headed your way with that post.

All,

I wrote the above post and hit submit. Immediately the screen appeared about being "timed out".
I wanted to see if my post made it to the thread so:
- I went back and refreshed the thread - no post.
- I went back out to the forum list, returned to the thread - no post.
- I refreshed the thread again(!) - no post.
- I went back to the forum list again, returned to the thread (in a "new window"), and there was my post.

Perhaps my computer is trying to "help" me by keeping the thread in RAM and refusing to "refresh" when so directed.

(Perhaps I will drive a wooden stake through its little processor heart!!)

So:

1) Once you, I, we, any of us, hit "Submit" one time, let's assume (yeah... I know...) the post is submitted - even if we can't find it or get "timed out" screens, etc.

2) I believe Rich is working hard to find and repair our current problems. Please bear with us.
------

Again, Terri, my poorly written post was meant for those who had not yet discovered this current problem. Sorry I inadvertently wrote it so it seemed to be directed toward you.
-----

Now let's see. Hammer, check. Wooden stake, check. Now if I can just get this cover off......

Dennis, put the hammer down.
You've been working too hard - time for a Shiner break.
See...isn't that better already?

Yes it is me and I can always come up with something. LOL

quote:
On the other hand, if I can get an extra Shiner ( ), I'm liable to do anything that must be done!!!
Mercy, Dennis this leaves a broad subject for such a broad mind, but I will be good, if it wasn't so late I would have to give it my all. LOL

No, I don't think you want to wear that hat again, because now the rule is "the hat is all you can wear"

No I knew you wasn't directing just towards me but I wanted just to say I was sorry anyways. But since I still have you here please answer me this, why do you want this? LOL

quote:
Now if I can just get this cover off......
OH MY this makes a wondering mind wonder.

terridarri - I wanted to be sure you knew I didn't close the other test thread, George did, yeah that's it, George did it!

I was only trying to help, only concerned for your welfare. I just wonder how you all got out? At the end I had the door locked and barred. We must have some Houdinis here on TFL.

Well Mal don't you know by now it is hard to keep a good women locked up, it is just impossible and the other ones just sneaked out when I opened the door. LOL I tried real hard to push them back, but they just couldn't let a good women go.

Dennis - Do me a favor...
Go sit on the porch with a fresh Shiner and think knuckle dragger thoughts for a time.
I find that that helps me quite a bit.

As for me "Doing It"... I have no doubt.
The question remains "Who" and do I have an alibi...

I'm going to go dig in the dirt for awile.
